Hi, I’m Rebecca.png

Ever since I can remember, I've been passionate about helping others achieve success. And as an Associate Coach with the Association for Coaching (AC), I have the opportunity to do that every single day.

Throughout a career spanning over twenty years, I've worked with parents, students, colleagues, leaders and  business owners; seeing seen them make profound breakthroughs in achieving both their business and life goals whilst developing their resilience and maintaining their wellbeing.

Coach.  Advocate.  Cheerleader.

Let's make it happen!

  • Is this therapy?
Coaching isn't therapy. Positive psychology and transformational coaching is rooted in the belief that coachees have a growth mindset and are coming to coaching to make lasting change to their life; possibly shaking up long held constraints to enable them to move forwards and live a better, happier life. Whilst it may be useful to understand some of your personal history, particularly if this introduces constraints or challenges to your ability to enact lasting change, coaching won't dwell on what has gone before, mostly how we can move into that more fulfilling future state.
  • What is Transformational Coaching?
Transformational coaching is the process of partnering with someone to support them through a significant change that helps them grow, develop, and ultimately “rewrite their reality.” The underlying premise behind transformational coaching is that you will examine everything that could be in service of that transformation. It includes a holistic examination of your life, such as your culture, influences, relationships and environment, that may be a catalyst or hindrance to significant change.
  • Will you keep me accountable?
Yes... but... During our coaching relationship, I will work to ensure you stay accountable between sessions. So if you set yourself an action - particularly one that is time bound and actionable between our next session - then I will happily check in with you to see how you're getting on and help you to work to achieve that action. But all good things must come to an end and so during our sessions, I will also help you to learn how to ensure you are able to be accountable to yourself. We'll work through understanding what might derail even the best intentioned actions and how you can ensure that you 'roll with the punches' and either achieve that action - or how you can adapt it to make sure what you've done is good enough. We will also look at how you can identify other sources of accountability. Maybe a relative or friend could help support you to stay on track. Or could technology help? Nothing gives me greater pleasure than someone saying that they don't need me any more because through our coaching sessions I've helped them to become self-sufficient!
  • What is the discovery call?
The free discovery call will last about 30 minutes and will be an opportunity to meet with Rebecca and talk about what your coaching needs are and how we might be able to work together. During the call, we'll cover what you're hoping to achieve from coaching; which programme works best for you (weekly or flexible); By the end of the call, we should mutually understand if we're right for each other as coach and coachee and what approach we will take to coaching sessions. You'll then be sent a copy of the coaching contract to review which covers information such as confidentiality, data privacy and expectations. Once reviewed, we can book in your coaching sessions! Why not book your discovery call today?
  • What is Positive Psychology Coaching?
The Association for Coaching (AC) defines coaching as "Put simply professional coaching is the best way to support an individual, team, organisation and society to reach its purpose and potential." Positive Psychology Coaching focuses on working with individuals to help find positive actions to help them to achieve their goal. The coach asks questions to support the individual's thinking.
  • What is coaching?
Put simply, we identify what you are trying to achieve and I will then support you through the use of directed questioning to figure out how you can move ahead towards your desired future. During the sessions, I may use a variety of techniques to help you to overcome limiting beliefs, review options and find ways to take realistic and sustainable positive action. These techniques include visualisation (thinking how you might feel in that future state); reframing (looking at a challenge from a different perspective) and good old-fashioned open questioning (Who, What, Where, When and Why). Van Nieuwerburgh (2020) defines coaching as follows: (Coaching) is a managed conversation that takes place between two people; (Coaching) aims to support sustainable change to behaviours or ways of thinking
  • I'm ready to create lasting change, how many sessions will I need?
Everyone is different. And even two people with the same goal might need to have more or fewer sessions than each other. Or the number might be the same but the frequency of interaction will be different. So during our discovery call, as I start to understand your needs, we can work out how many sessions you'll need. To really work through lasting change, most people need six sessions - hence the signature 'Six 30 Six' programme - six 30 minute sessions over six weeks. I also offer the Flexi One to One programme which has a bank of six hours which you can use over a one-year period. So you might have four 45 minute sessions in the first month and then a 45 minute check in, review and refinement session once a month for the next four months. Or another pattern entirely. The best way to find out is to book your discovery call today!

Daring greatly means being vulnerable: "It means to show up and be seen. To ask for what you need. To talk about how you're feeling.

To have the hard conversations"
